Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Jawad Abu Al-Shaeer, the esteemed Dean of Al-Rafidain University College, the university’s volleyball team participated in the Iraqi Universities Volleyball Championship (Central Region), which concluded on Monday, December 16, 2024.
The championship was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by the Student Activities Department within the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Directorate, in collaboration with the Iraqi Federation of University Sports. A total of 17 teams representing public and private universities from the central region participated in the event.
Al-Rafidain University College’s team secured fifth place under the supervision of Mr. Salam Abdulhameed and Mr. Ivan Ramzi Hussam, heads of the Sports Activities Unit, along with the participation of several outstanding students.
The tournament concluded with the distribution of awards, medals, and trophies to the top-performing teams. Saif Alaaony was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Faisal, Vice President of the University of Baghdad for Administrative Affairs; Dr. Ammar Hamid Al-Zubaidi, Director of the Student Activities Department at the Ministry of Higher Education; and members of the Iraqi Federation of University Sports, Professor Dr. Ali Youssef and Assistant Professor Dr. Saif Alaa.
This participation underscores the college’s commitment to supporting sports activities to foster competition and collaboration among students.
