78 Iraqi Universities Ranked in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings

The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings has released its 2024 edition, evaluating 1,477 universities from 95 countries worldwide. This ranking assesses universities based on key criteria, including:
• Campus environment and infrastructure (15%)
• Energy and climate change (21%)
• Waste management (18%)
• Optimal water usage (10%)
• Education, academic programs, and research (18%)
• Transportation and mobility within the campus (18%)
According to the official UI GreenMetric website https://greenmetric.ui.ac.id/rankings/overall-rankings-2024 , 78 Iraqi universities have secured competitive global positions in the 2024 rankings.
Among them, the University of Babylon achieved an impressive 119th place worldwide, followed by other leading institutions such as University of Anbar, Al-Mustaqbal University, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, University of Baghdad, University of Karbala, University of Basrah, Al-Kafeel University, Northern Technical University, Islamic University, University of Samarra, and Warith Al-Anbiyaa University, along with several other public and private Iraqi universities.
This achievement highlights the growing commitment of Iraqi universities to sustainability, academic excellence, and environmental responsibility on a global scale.
