National Tree Planting Campaign – A Step Towards a Sustainable Future
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Jawad Abu Al-Shaer, the esteemed Dean of Al-Rafidain University College, the college organized a volunteer tree-planting initiative on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Al-Rafidain High School for Gifted Girls.
This initiative aligns with the National Tree Planting Campaign, launched under the directive of Prime Minister Eng. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, in collaboration with the Voluntary Work Committee in the Council of Ministers and the Iraqi Authority for Radiological Source Control.
Promoting Environmental Awareness and Sustainability
The campaign aims to enhance environmental awareness and encourage students to take responsibility for preserving nature. Several notable figures participated in the event, including:
• Mr. Murtada Mahmoud Jawad, Head of the Media and Government Communications Division
• Dr. Rana Khudair Abbas, Head of the Public Relations Unit
• Mr. Qusay Mohammed Ahmed, Member of the Student Affairs Committee
• Ms. Maha Kazem Abdul, Head of the Student Activities Department
• Along with a group of students from the Computer Engineering Technology Department
Enhancing Green Spaces for a Cleaner Environment
During the event, students from various college departments actively participated in planting trees in the schoolyard. This initiative is part of Al-Rafidain College’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental responsibility, improve air quality, and expand green spaces to help combat pollution.
By engaging in this national initiative, Al-Rafidain University College reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and fostering eco-friendly practices among students.
