The Industrial Advisory Council held its first session on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
Dr. Mahmoud Abu Al-Sha’ir welcomed the esteemed members of the council, explaining that the main objective of establishing the council is to provide updates in the private sector and the industrial sector, and to work with those responsible for the education sector to develop both sectors.
Dr. Samer Saeed Issa, the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, outlined three main points: the academic sector, the public sector, and the private sector, to provide training and skill development opportunities for students and graduates as an initiative to increase youth employment opportunities.
The council members discussed the main tasks of establishing a strong and sustainable partnership between government institutions, academia, the private sector, and professional unions to make academic programs more suitable for the labor market. The council members also appreciated the dialogue among themselves and pledged full support in preparing the academic system and students for the job market and the industrial sector, ensuring graduates are placed correctly to invest their potential.
