Seminar on Cyber ExtortionDecember 24, 2024
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Jawad Abu Al-Sheir, Dean of Al-Rafidain University College, an educational seminar titled “Cyber Extortion” was held on Thursday, November 28, 2024. This event was part of the Joint Committee between Private Colleges and the University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Supervised by Ms. Nada Adnan Taher, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division, and Ms. Basma Mohammed Khalil, Head of the Scientific Departments’ Activities Unit, the seminar welcomed Major Ali Mohsen Jassim and Captain Noor Tawfiq Hadi from the Ministry of Interior – Public Relations Department / Official Spokesperson’s Office.
The session explored cyber extortion, a growing challenge in the digital era, offering insights into identifying such crimes, implementing preventive strategies, and leveraging awareness and psychological counseling to combat the issue. Additionally, discussions focused on supporting victims, enhancing online safety, and adopting effective measures to protect against digital threats.
