General Ethical Principles of Engineering Professions
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Jawad Abu Al-Sheir, Dean of Al-Rafidain University College, a seminar titled “General Ethical Principles of Engineering Professions” was held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the main building of the college.
The seminar was organized in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division for the 2024-2025 academic year. It was supervised by Ms. Nada Adnan Taher, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division, and Ms. Basma Mohammed Khalil, Head of the Scientific Departments Activities Unit, with coordination by Dr. Mustafa Abdul Salam Mustafa, liaison officer.
The session was delivered by Dr. Mustafa Abdul Salam Mustafa from the Department of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering Technologies and focused on guiding engineers’ professional conduct to ensure responsible practice. Key principles discussed included:
• Public safety as a top priority in engineering practices.
• Commitment to honesty and transparency in all aspects of work, including providing accurate information.
Applying these principles enhances credibility and trust in the engineering profession and contributes to sustainable development in society.
