In a strategic move showcasing the robust collaboration between academia and industry, Al-Rafidain University College has approved the launch of its Academy for Information and Communication Technology in partnership with global tech leader Huawei. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to forge alliances with internationally renowned institutions, driving forward digital transformation and technological innovation.
The event was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Jawad Abu Al-Shaer, Dean of Al-Rafidain University College, and Assistant Professor Dr. Samer Saeed Issa, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, along with several esteemed faculty members from the field. Representing Huawei’s Iraqi operations was Engineer Rand Safou, the company’s Public Relations Officer.
Designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills during their studies, the academy prepares graduates for a seamless transition into the modern workforce. It will also offer complimentary training courses for alumni, bolstering their career readiness. Furthermore, Huawei will support students and graduates with strong English proficiency, enabling their participation in international competitions hosted by Huawei across more than 170 countries.
