Minister of Higher Education Honors Top Graduates at the University of Kufa
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, honored the top graduates of the University of Kufa during its 35th commencement ceremony.
In his speech, the Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to implementing all measures that contribute to the advancement and development of university institutions and their distinction. He emphasized the dedication of the Ministry, universities, colleges, institutes, and research centers to upholding their mission of nurturing students, preparing future generations, and providing a comprehensive academic environment.
He further noted that the graduation of the 35th cohort at the University of Kufa marks another milestone in the achievements realized during the past two years of the Iraqi government and the Ministry of Higher Education. These accomplishments include securing the credibility of Iraqi degrees, aligning them with international accreditation standards, achieving competitive rankings in global university classifications, and enhancing Iraq’s research output in indexed scientific repositories. Additionally, the “Study in Iraq” program has successfully attracted international students to Iraqi universities.

The graduation ceremony featured a parade of graduates, an academic procession led by the university council, a speech by the President of the University of Kufa, Dr. Alaa Naji Al-Mawla, and an address by the graduating students. The event also included the official conferral of degrees and the administration of the university oath for all graduates, as well as the medical oath for students from the medical colleges.
