Seminar on the Role of Security Institutions in Combating Violence Against Women
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Jawad Abu Al-Sheir, Dean of Al-Rafidain University College, an educational seminar titled “The Role of Security Institutions in Combating Violence Against Women” was held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
Organized by the Women’s Affairs Unit, in collaboration with the National Security Advisory and the Cybersecurity Center, the event underscored the vital role of security institutions in safeguarding women and addressing all forms of violence against them.
The session was led by Dr. Sura Ghadhan Ghaidan from the National Security Advisory, who provided in-depth insights into strategies implemented by security agencies to combat violence against women. Discussions also explored ways to enhance collaboration among relevant stakeholders to ensure comprehensive protection and support for women facing abuse and violence.
This seminar is part of ongoing initiatives aimed at raising awareness and strengthening the role of security institutionsin tackling challenges faced by women in society.
