Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Jawad Abu Al-Shaer, Dean of Al-Rafidain University College, an educational and awareness seminar titled “The Convention on Combating Human Trafficking” was held on Monday, December 9, 2024, in celebration of the International Human Rights Day.
This seminar was organized as part of the activities of the Human Rights Unit, coordinated with the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Aseel Ibrahim Mohsen, Head of the Human Rights Unit. The seminar was delivered by Mr. Mehdi Hassan Mohammed, Training Director at the High Commission for Human Rights. He outlined the key aspects of the convention and emphasized the importance of combating human trafficking. Mr. Mohammed highlighted the vital role of local communities, governmental institutions, and international organizations in strengthening efforts to curb this serious phenomenon.
The seminar witnessed significant engagement from attendees, with many questions and discussions enriching participants’ awareness of the dimensions of human trafficking and methods of prevention.
